HALLOWEEN MAKEUP TUTORIAL: DARK PUNK ROCKER FAIRY
Halloween is in less than two weeks (what?!?!?!) For those of you out there that are completely stumped and have no costume ideas whatsoever, then you're in luck! We have an awesome idea that is the perfect balance between pretty and Halloween-esque. Instead of being the main stream Tinkerbell, (no shame to those of you were planning on it), why not be a dark fairy (Tink's punk sister?) The costume would be easy just a simple black dress with a pair of dark purple fairy wings and Doc Martens, and POOF you've got a dark-punk rocker fairy. As far as the makeup goes we've got you covered. Here's the tutorial below!
Makeup Needed:
Tan or taupe eyeshadow
Shimmery dark purple eyeshadow (or eyeliner)
Shimmery or mettalic silver eyeshadow (We found all of these eyeshadows in the Lorac Pro eyeshadow palette)
Mascara
Plum lipstick
Start with a clean face. Now's the time to put on foundation, touch up some blemishes or under eye circles with concealer, or fill in your eyebrows.
Grab a nice, fluffy crease brush and add your tan/taupe shadow onto it. We mixed together Taupe and Light Bronze from the Lorac Pro palette.
Buff this onto the outer third of your eye. Doing this will give you a nice shadow effect.
Using a thin, pixel-pointed brush, (the brush shown will not help you achieve the look we're going for here, we changed brushes after realizing that) apply your shimmery dark purple onto the brush.
Carefully line your upper lashline with this purple color and wing it out. This step has so much room for interpretation. You can do anything between a classic cat eye, to this long wing we have achieved here! If you would prefer a stronger line, we suggest using purple eyeliner instead. However, we really like how the wing is kind of hazy and light.
Put some of your metallic silver shadow onto your ring finger and then apply it to the center of your eyelid and blend it out a bit. Finish off the eyes with a good coat or two of mascara.
Last step! Apply your plum colored lipstick and... Poof! You're a punk rock fairy! We looove this makeup look. These dark, shimmery eyeshadows are the perfect balance between girly and grunge!
