DIY GIANT TASSELED PARTY BALLOON

Balloons are amazing, it's just a fact. For some reason they are just so much fun to have around for any kind of occasion. A bundle of balloons is nice but what if you had one huge balloon? Giant balloons are super festive and add a fun touch to any event. The best part is that you can decorate them any way you like. We made our own tassels and attached a super fun garland we found at Party City to give it a little pizzazz. ;) Below we'll show you how to make the tassels so you can use these pretty balloons to decorate your next soiree!

All you need is:

36 inch balloons (you can have them blown up at any party store)

Star Ring garland

Metallic silver tissue paper

String (like baker's twine)

Scissors

Take a single piece of tissue paper and fold it in half longways. Then cut the paper to make it look fridged about 3/4 of the way through to the middle.

Open up the fridged paper and fold it up until it looks like a roll with fridge on either side of the ends.

Fold over the paper so that the ends match up with each other.

Take a pencil or pen and put the folded over tassel onto it. Then slowly twist the top of the tassel until it is strong enough to stay without undoing.

Tie on a piece of baker's twine or string onto the string attached to the balloon. String on the tassels and tie them onto the twine one at a time. We used three tassels on one balloon. Then attach the star garland to the top of the balloon's string. The garland we used had little metal rings that you can open with your fingers like a key chain, this makes for easy attachment.

Super easy and super cute right? It's a definite double whammy. These would be perfect to dress up a party or to surprise a friend. Make these pretty balloons anytime of year to recieve instant smiles. Enjoy! :)
