BAKED GARBANZO BEANS

This is the very first savory recipe we have ever posted on the blog! How exciting is that?!?!? Okay, it may be a little more exciting to us than to you, but that's beside the point. Garbanzo beans (aka chickpeas) are great, that much is true, but they are a lot greater when they are spruced up with some spices and baked to a crispy perfection. We could literally eat 12 batches of these because they are SOOO good! Also, we now have an official LPC YouTube channel that you should totally subscribe to! There is a video tutorial for this recipe that you can watch at the bottom of this post. For now, here is a photo tutorial plus the recipe!

Empty a can of garbanzo beans into a strainer and wash them well. You can quickly throw them onto a pan and rub them gently with a paper towel to take the skins off, but that is not neccesary.

Mix all of your spices in a small bowl and set to the side.

Spread your beans on a large baking sheet, no parchment paper is neccessary. Drizzle a generous helping (about 1 tablespoon) of olive oil onto the beans and then shake the pan to coat them evenly.

Sprinkle them with your spice mixture and shake the pan again to coat them evenly.

Bake them for 20-25 minutes. Then take them out, let them cool, and serve. They'll be gone in flash, that we can assure you. ;) Now here's the recipe.

Ingredients:

1 can of garbanzo beans

1 tablespoon of olive oil

1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon of cumin

1/4 teaspoon of sweet paprika

1/2 teaspoon of salt

1/8 teaspoon of black pepper

Directions:

1.) Set your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

2.) Strain a can of garbanzo beans. Put them on a baking sheet and rub them gently with a paper towel to get the skins off if you don't like them. This step is optional.

3.) Mix all of your spices in a bowl and set to the side until needed.

4.) If you haven't already, spread your beans on a large baking sheet. Drizzle olive oil all over them and then shake the pan to coat the beans evenly.

5.) Then, sprinkle your beans with the spice mixture. Shake the pan again to coat the beans evenly.

5.) Bake the beans for 20-25 minutes. Once they are golden brown and crisp take them out and let them cool. Serve them once they are completely cool.

And that's all! They are a super easy snack to make and work well as an appetizer. No matter how you use them, make sure to be fair and share! ;) Here's the video.
