CHIC METALLIC THUMB TACK TREE HOLIDAY DECOR
It may still be November (and not even Thanksgiving yet to boot), but we think it's time to start getting your holiday decor organized, so when tis the season you WILL be jolly not crazy stressed. ;) This little craft we've got here is as easy as it gets. You only need thumb tacks and styrofoam cones, which may sound like amateur hour, but once you're done with this project you end up with a super chic and classy new addition to your ever-growing holiday decor collection! Let's get to it.
All you need is:
2 styrofoam cones of varying sizes (we chose the small and medium sizes)
Gold (350) and silver (200) thumb tacks (we actually ended up using 4 1/2 boxes)
Go around the base of the cone with the tacks and continue layer by layer until you reach the top. Once you reach the flat top, cover it with tacks until you can't see the styrofoam. You really get into the zone while doing this and you'll be done in no time even though it may look like it's super tedious.
Go back and stick tacks wherever you see styrofoam. In this picture you can see that on the taller tree we put two layers of silver tacks in the middle of all the gold tacks to break them up. You don't have to do this but it looks super pretty. You could even do a different pattern, it's totally up to you!
And there you go! Aren't these trees just the most adorably festive decorations? They really make us want the holiday season to come faster so we can put these little guys out sooner. Is that too much to ask? ;)
