DIY MARBLED MASON JAR VASES THAT WILL MAKE YOUR MOTHER PROUD

Believe it or not, Mother’s Day is only a few weeks away (May 8th if you were wondering). Every year us children are put to the task to get the woman who gave us life and provided for us all our lives something special. That’s a pretty daunting mission. There are just too many options out there, and a nice smelling candle just won’t cut it this year. Have you ever thought about making a present for you mom? Most likely no since you thought that might come off as “oops I couldn’t find anything,” but to us at least it seems super touching and personal. Why not try something new this year? It’s 2016 people! Branch out a bit and get crafty for your mom this year. ;)

All you need is:

A plastic container filled about 1/2 with water (that you wouldn’t mind parting with because things are going to get messy here)

Medium mason jar

Variety of nail polishes (that you predict will look good mixed together)

A toothpick (not pictured)

Pick your base color and pour a good amount of it into the water. Try to pour pretty close to the surface, for some reason it helps. Then take your other colors and drop in smaller drops all around the base.

Next, take your toothpick and swirl your colors around to your desired marble-ness.

This next part gets a little quick (and messy) so get ready! Take a jar and carefully “roll it” around the marbled polish on top of water so that it sticks onto the surface of the jar. If there is not enough polish to cover the whole jar, just add repeat the toothpick swirl and rolling around processes. Quick tip: take off any jewelry before doing this because you will get nail polish on your hands.

After you’re done coating the jar to your liking (you can do a half coated/ half not look like we did with the pink jar), set them down on a paper towel to dry. Let them dry out for about an hour before touching them.

Give yourself a nice pat on the back because you know you’ve just made your mother the ultimate gift. Now that you got the jar down all you need to get are some pretty blooms to go inside them. That will definitely make this gift EXTRA special. Handmade vase + gorgeous flowers= Mother’s Day bliss. You know you’ve gotten it right this year, and so will she. And to top it off go give her a nice big hug because she’s the absolute best. ;)
