KOSÅS WEIGHTLESS LIP COLOR

I get daily emails from Domino Magazine every few hours and I usually just glance over them. Last week I got an email that was advertising a 3-day craft fair in Silverlake (even though it's called the Echo Park Craft Fair) that Domino was a sponsor of. I thought wouldn't this be a perfect event to go to on Mother's Day? So I told my family about it and off we went. The fair was teeming with hipster families and their young kids. It was a little overwhelming and pretty much everything was so much $$$$$. I probably won't go next year but it was nice to see it at least once. I did walk out of there with one goodie though and that's the lipstick you see above.

I don't wear a lot of makeup very often. I usually walk out the door with some moisturizer and facial mist and that's about it. If I were to pick my top three makeup essentials they would definitely be mascara, concealer, and lipstick. That's all a girl really needs in her makeup bag! The issue is I can NEVER find the right lip color to match my skin tone (which is what I guess you could describe as olive). I did not expect to find makeup at the craft fair I went to last Sunday, but as it turns out I ended up discovering Kosås cosmetics.

This brand is pretty cool for a few reasons:

1. They're designed to match every skin tone.

2. They're handmade in Los Angeles (represent)! The packaging is GORGEOUS.

3. They're packaging is a minimalist's dream come true.

4. And there are only eight shades in the collection, so you don't have to go crazy trying on zillions of other colors.

The lipstick itself is great. It's long-wearing but semi-matte so your lips don't dry out. The shade I bought is called Undone and it looks like a pink-brown-nude hybrid. That sounds kind of weird, but in the photo above you can see it looks really nice. If you've been hunting for the perfect lipstick to top off a no-makeup look, search no more because this is the one. Unfortunately, the brand does not have any flagship stores so that means online orders only (or the occasional appearance at hipster craft fairs). But trust me, you won't be let down no matter what color you get because they're all universally flattering!! Good luck trying to choose your favorite shade. ;)

xoxo,

Emma
