EMMA'S GO-TO GREEN GODDESS SMOOTHIE

Smoothies: you either love 'em, or you hate 'em. I for one happen to LOVE a good smoothie, but I find that many of the blends from popular smoothie places are either loaded with sugar, ridiculously expensive, or both. The solution is simple...make your own smoothie with the ingredients you love most! Coming from a girl who's always avoided the green smoothie on the menu, I promise you that this recipe will convince even the most green-intolerant person that greens CAN BE delicious after all.

Gather up all those ingredients!

Toss all the ingredients into a blender and purée. Don't be scared away by that green color... I promise you that it's incredible. To top off your smoothie, sprinkle on some dried blueberries and a pinch of cinnamon. This is where you can also get a little bit creative. Other topping ideas include fresh raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, chia seeds, or even a bit of honey!

Now here's the recipe for two servings...

Ingredients:

1 2/3 cup of vanilla almond milk

1 frozen banana

1 cup of frozen mango pieces

1/2 cup of frozen blueberries

1/2 a 6 oz. container of non-fat Greek yogurt A sizeable handful of fresh, washed baby spinach

1 tablespoon of almond butter

1 1/2 tablespoon of organic honey

Directions:

1. Gather up all of your ingredients and purée them together in a blender.

2. If the smoothie is a little too thick then you can add some more almond milk, and if it isn't quite sweet enough then you can add a touch more of honey.

3. Pour the smoothie into two 14 oz. mason jars. In case you were wondering, I bought my Quattro Stagioni mason jar mug from The Container Store. :)

It's become kind a ritual for me make this smoothie on a Sunday morning, so that I can have two breakfasts for the busy week ahead all ready to go! This easy grab-and-go breakfast makes my mornings much more relaxed. Besides tasting amazing, this smoothie also has some hidden beauty and health benefits! Berries are known for their skin-boosting properties since they are full of antioxidants and vitamins. A bit of Greek yogurt gives you the probiotics that research has found help keep your skin clear, while spinach gives you a little extra Vitamins A and C to keep your skin glowing! Sounds like a recipe for a radiant complexion to me! I hope you all get to try out this recipe soon, and to those green-haters out there I encourage you to branch out a bit even if that means just having a sip of this smoothie!

xoxo,

Emma
