BODY HERO DUO REVIEW
Another Glossier release, another review. Honestly, Beyoncé-esque internet breaking product drops don't get old, especially when they're from my favorite cult beauty brand. Glossier is known for their incredible facial skincare and makeup products, but this time around they've decided to give some love to the most underrated part of self-care a.k.a. the skin on the rest of our bodies! I can say pretty confidently that most people brush over this step in cleaning themselves up with a quick swipe of a loofa, but Glossier's Body Hero Duo is here to change that.
There are two products involved in this process (compared to the 1000+ creams and gels that go into most facial routines, or maybe that's just mine). First off we have the Daily Oil Wash, which is made of seven oils that attract dirt/grime leaving your skin feeling so fresh and so clean, clean (the opportunity was wide open). At first I was a little weirded out by the idea of rubbing a bunch of oils into my skin, but what I love about this wash is that it foams up into a rich lather like most other brand name soaps. I'm a big fan of bubbles, so this was a huge plus for me. :) Another thing about this body wash is that it's hypoallergenic, so it's good for people with sensitive skin and safe for even the most sensitive parts of your body. If that doesn't sell it to you, then let me just quickly mention that this body wash also has the softest and cleanest scent ever thanks to a blend of orange blossom and neroli. Alright, that concludes my case.
Wait one more thing! This wash also doubles as a nice shaving oil. :)
Part two of the process takes place outside of the shower with the Daily Perfecting Cream. Here we have the perfect body lotion for impatient people because it melts into your skin immediately without drying out your skin. That means you can put on your skinny jeans immediately without feeling all gross. :) If you've seen any of the ads from the amazing body-positive campaign Glossier did for this product launch you would have probably noticed how shiny and glowy all of the models look. This is not some Photoshop scam; this is real life, and I can testify to it! This cream leaves your arms and legs feeling buttery smooth, and get this, it contains "light-reflecting particles" in the formula to give you an outrageous goddess glow. And just to add yet another cherry on top of this endless sundae, it has the same baby-soft scent as the Daily Oil Wash. Thank. You. Glossier.
The Body Hero Duo is just as amazing as expected, but seriously is there anything Glossier can't do? The products are both extremely user-friendly, they leave your skin feeling hydrated/smelling great, and in classic Glossier fashion, they make your bathroom look a whole lot prettier. The Duo comes out to be $35, which isn't bad considering that you are getting a lot of product (usually this is my one woe when it comes to Glossier products). It's an investment that I'd say is worth making. I was going to try to be cute and make a joke about the Daily Perfecting Cream being the Robin to the Daily Oil Wash's Batman, but then I realized that this analogy doesn't work since BOTH of these products are superheros, not sidekicks (no shade to you Robin)! Well anyways, let's try something else then. How about this: not all heroes wear capes. ;)
